About me

My name is Marion. An important thing about me is that I try to live my life with  a happy, grateful and contented heart. Hence the title of this blog.

My faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour is a vital factor in how I seek to live my life, make my decisions, what attitude I have towards people and to the events of each day. Granted I often fall far short of being the kind of woman Jesus wants me to be, but I think He is pleased with my efforts. It’s not that I have attained perfection, but “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14).

I am married to a wonderful man and together we have 4 adult children as well as 3 daughters-in-law and 1 son-in-law all of  whom bring us much joy and laughter and food for thought. Seven grandchildren (so far) bring fresh insight and keep us young at heart.

Life for me is a journey — I try to see God at work in the ordinary moments of my day — day by day, week by week, year by year.  I look for Him and the spiritual lessons He longs to show me through the natural events of my life. It’s exciting, it’s fun, sometimes scary, but so worth the adventure. I can’t imagine living any other way. The Lord gives meaning to my past, my present and my future. I have hope and peace and joy because I know the One who came to give us life in all its fullness.

A happy heart is one that trusts in God, seeks as far as is possible to live at peace with other people, and looks to the future with anticipation. That’s the kind of person I want to be — that’s the kind of heart I want to have.
